Survey Types

Are you thinking of purchasing a vessel or requiring a survey of any type? Click here to see our list of pre-purchase and post purchase surveys to help you make an informed decision.

MCA Commercial Compliance Survey

If you are looking to put your yacht to work in the commercial sense (such as chartering etc), we are authorised by the International Institute of Marine Surveying (I.I.M.S.) certifying authority to undertake MCA commercial compliance examinations in accordance with MGN 280.

Recreational Craft Directive

Our surveyors possess a wealth of knowledge regarding the RCD and assist importers and home builders in achieving conformity with the directive so that vessels may be put into service or placed on the market within the EU.

Tonnage Measurement Survey

As members of the International Institute of Marine Surveying (I.I.M.S.) certifying authority and approved by the Yacht Designers and Surveyors Association, we offer a tonnage measurement service in accordance with the Merchant Shipping (Tonnage) Regulations 1997. We employ a recognised measurement system and submit our recorded particulars to the Certifying Authority who produce the vessel's tonnage certificate for registration purposes.

Marine Engineering Inspection

We have unrivalled expertise in the inspection of all main and auxiliary machinery used in the marine industry. We can carry out mechanical inspections to determine the condition of a mechanical installation or the cause of malfunction and damage.

A valuation is generally required for finance, insurance or repossession purposes. We will inspect every aspect of the vessel for cosmetic condition and operational capability and compare our findings to similar vessels to determine the market value of the craft.

Needless to say, we cover many more aspects so if you have a specific requirement then please do not hesitate to contact our office on +44 (0) 2380 333307 or to discuss your specific requests. Alternatively, please click here to submit an enquiry online.
