New Build Project Management
- Category: Our Services - Articles
Our involvement generally starts at the specification stage and our role is to ensure you receive the most cost-effective package that delivers your yacht to best suit its intended use.
We will attend throughout the build process to confirm the level of completion at all stages and in line with the overall project schedule. Our inspections ensure that your yacht is built to specification, including class requirements and to identify any operational issues that might arise. During the build, we keep an up to date record of all issues raised and resolved plus on a monthly basis, we raise a formal report to keep you informed of the on-going process.
When the yacht approaches completion, we will liaise with the manufacturer to complete our own sea trials, where possible alongside the engine commissioning and navigational trials in order to avoid disruption to the build schedule. Upon factory completion, we will undertake a full pre-delivery inspection (PDI), which includes further specification appraisals, full systems testing, interior and exterior cosmetic inspections. This ensures that every defect is recorded, which allows a worklist to be submitted to the shipyard. Once this is completed, we then return to the yacht to sign off the completed items and identify any areas that might require further improvement. Lastly, we raise a full and formal report on completion of the project.
